Society now a days is designed for you to be average.
Think about it...what are you taught your entire life?
FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.
You are not taught to think for yourself.
You are not taught to find a better way.
You are taught not to break the rules....and NOTHING great was ever built by following the rules...especially a great life.
Its no longer..."you can be anything you want". Now its...point at the guy that has done something great and say "He got lucky". Now its..."That life isnt for you". Now its..."everyone gets a trophy". Now its "there are no winners or losers". Society wants you to be average.
It NEEDS you to be average.
Society needs people to give up on their hearts desires and accept what they are given.
It needs you to accept a job you dont love.
It needs you to be buried in debt.
It needs you to struggle.
It feeds you a constant story of "luck" and "overnight success" to make you lose hope in yourself and believe that you are not in control of your outcome.
The real reason people dont succeed is because they dont do the fucking work. Period.
Sure, you may "show up" everyday.
You may even get there early & stay late.
But time "served" does not equal productivity, efficiency or progress.
Every mile.
Every step.
Every inch of the journey is going to require your 100% effort, 100% focus and 100% pride in the details of your work.
At work this is every job, every conversation, every interaction, every project, every task.
At the gym its 100% effort & focus on every every set, every rep.
At home its how you mow your grass, how you make your bed & how you treat your family.
Success in any area comes down to taking pride in every seemingly insignificant detail of your life.
People that succeed put in the work...perfectly...consistently...with pride in the outcome.
People that dont...dont.
There is no magic.
There is no luck.
There is no MAYBE or WHAT IF.
Do the fucking work.
Do it perfectly.
Do it consistently.
Or dont bitch about how life fucked you over.
